Once again when will the forms for the Womens VA State be available on-line???
We should have the forms online sometime this week and forms should be showing up in the centers very soon.
Received the 2017 Women’s State application in the mail – wanted to down load it to fill it out but do not see it on-line – when will it be posted on-line?
I’m guessing that the question was asking why the Senior’s Tournament isn’t just a Singles event only? The answer is that we have more interest in a Singles and Doubles event tournament than a one event tournament. Virginia State added a Team event recently because the bowlers were asking for that event also. Virginia State believes that the growth we have seen in the last two years in the tournament have proven this as a good decision. Thank you for the question.
Why can the tournament be just a singles tournament
Sure hope they look at the averages for the divisions this year – Division 1 is too low
October 1, 2016…
The entry forms will be distributed to the Local Associations the weekend of the Annual meeting October 1, 2017.

It’s usually a few weeks after the tournament ends that final results are received for posting by the website. Everything needs to be verified.
Where can I find “all time” Virginia State bowling tournament records and who holds them? (singles, handicap)
Your question has been forwarded to the Virginia State Association Manager.
In answer to your question regarding State Tournament records …..
Hello Mark
I am currently looking through our files and seeing if we have that information in the office. I have also contacted Billy Paxton to see if he has any of that information. I will let you know as soon as I can.
Thank you

This is a good question, there should absolutely be a link for the records for high scores shot in each category, I would think that could be credit towards hall of fame nominations as well.
The entry forms are not working on this page.
Please supply more information. Which forms? Which browser are you using? Are you able to download and then print them?
How far back do you all keep records for State Tournaments?
Your question will be forwarded to the Virginia State Association Manager.
Hello Tammy
We have different archives on the five different State run tournaments. Almost all of them are back 10 years or less. Let us know what you are seeking and I will be happy to check and assist.

When will the schedule for 2016 Tournaments be coming out and when can the tournaments be held closer to Virginia Beach/Norfolk area.
Hello Mr. Brown
I will be putting the 2016 tournament schedule out after August 1, 2015. Tournament sites are bid on by the Local Associations and the State delegates vote in May as to where the tournaments are going to be held with a two year lead time. So this year’s May vote was for the 2017 tournaments. The Women’s State Tournament and Virginia State Youth Tournament will be held in the Hampton area in 2016. Please contact your Local Area USBC Board of Directors for any questions about them bidding for future tournaments.

I still have not seen the entry form for the 2015 USBC Senior Tournament. I’ve looked on the tournament page of the USBC website and I’ve looked in Richmond Bowling Alleys and still can find the forms.

If I pay twice. Can I bowl mens state two different times?

Thanks for the reply…I had a friend of my team bring up my winnings to me during my summer bowling last Wed night….The team captain did indeed get the check so he gave it to him to give to me cause my friend lived down the street from us and was closer…
Hello…I just recently bowled in the 2014 State Tournament last month for the Men’s at Schrader Lanes and Hanover Lanes. I cashed in the Singles with a 122nd position. On;y netted me 34 bucks but I was wondering…What is the process on how the players that cash get paid? Do they mail a check to the bowlers? I have heard a couple different things including your team captain from your team roster would get it. I’m hoping you mail them out cause you never know…the buddy friend you might think you know might not give you the money then you are screwed. Also my winnings were pretty low compared to 1st place so hopefully it gets mailed…Thanks…Shawn

The USBC has offered an Age 50-54 Division for a number of years to the Seniors at the National level. The Virginia State Board decided to offer our bowlers an opportunity to compete in this event two years ago. This is the second year Virginia State USBC have offered the Age 50-54 division. The Tournament is an age division event only in the Singles and All Events with the divisions being Ages 50-54,55-59,60-64,65-69,70-74 and 75 and up.The Doubles and optional Team event are not age based events. The Virginia State USBC desires to offer our bowlers a tournament based along the same rules as the National USBC.

Would like to know why the age limit for seniors now include age 50? You can’t even get a senior discount anywhere until at least 55. How does a 70 yr. old compete with a 50 year old…add up the years difference….not happy about this change.

can a senior without a partner still enter the 2013 Senior Tournament?
Rule #5 states: Bowlers entered in the doubles event must also enter the singles. Likewise all singles events entrants must also bowl doubles event.
You must bowl both doubles and singles. For more information, or to see if partners are available, please contact the tournament director, Mike Eckles (vastatesrstour@aol.com). Other contact information for the tournament director is listed on the entry form.
Chill dude ! We both have the same goal in mind; to provide information to the bowlers. I just want to make it easier for them to get the info and non-attributional for any input they may provide.
There are many reasons why a person with valid concerns/questions may wish to remain anonymous. However; if a person can leave a fake name then your rationale for posting the name becomes moot. Your comment “There really is no need to be anonymous if your comment is constructive or inquisitive.’ is off base and inappropriate. I am concerned about this and if it has a chance of stifling input then this policy should be changed. Obviously you review the inputs so you have the ability to purge inappropriate comments. I am a member of the Board of Directors of the VPUSBC and will bring this up for discussion at our next meeting.
I do not censure or “review” comments, other than to disallow spam. There has not been any purging of “inappropriate” comments. The only reason comments are “moderated” is to alleviate automatic posting of spam to the comments section (to date there are 140 comments that are considered spam). The previous website did not allow comments at all. The comment system used by WordPress (which is the software this site uses) is similar to those used by other sites – a valid email is required but not published. I do not control how names are shown on comments, that is a function of the software used for this site and the input provided by the commenter. If you believe my comment about “there really is no need to be anonymous if your comment is constructive or inquisitive” is off base and inappropriate, then please take your concerns to the Association Manager.
It is not clear that a user has to click on the tournament name to access the entry form. Recommend a button or “click here for entry form” feature. Also, it is not a good idea to include the name or e-mail address of people posting comments. There should be some level of privacy involved with users submitting comments or questions.
You comments will be taken under advisement. Please note that in most cases a mouse-over of the tournament name will cause the color to change slightly, become underlined, and pop up a box will appear with the name of the link. As far as comments go, there are too many automated spam comments to allow anonymous comments. A valid email address is required to leave a comment, but the email address is not made public. Only the name a person gives (which may or may not be their real name) is shown. There really is no need to be anonymous if your comment is constructive or inquisitive.
I need to know the rule for the Youth VA State tournament if you have an absent bowler..
You will need to contact the Youth State Tournament Manager, his contact information is available on the Youth State Tournament entry form.
