1st Annual Greater Richmond Baker Youth Scratch Tournament

The Greater Richmond Youth Association will be holding a 3-person 5-game Baker Format youth tournament on Saturday, April 5, 2014. The tournament is open to all certified youth bowlers that are currently bowling in a certified youth league. Entry deadline is April 1, 2014. 2014 Virginia High School and State Youth Annual Tournaments Information

Information for the 13th Annual Virginia High School and 49th Annual Virginia State Youth Tournaments are now available on our website.   Please make sure to read all the information pertaining to the tournaments (available under the VASTATEUSBC Youth Page or the VASTATEUSBC Tournaments Page) very carefully. Entry closing date for the High School Tournament is March 16, 2014. Entries for the Annual State Youth Tournament will be accepted between March 1, 2014 and April 20, 2014. Questions about either tournament may be directed to Rick Ketchie (703-361-1875).

2014 Blake Harrison Memorial Star of Tomorrow Scholarship

Hello Association Managers,
The VA State Blake Harrison Memorial Star of Tomorrow Scholarship applications are available under the Virginia State USBC Youth and Virginia State USBC Forms pages.  Please forward this to all League Coordinators in your association that may have leagues with with High School Seniors graduating in May/June of 2014.
Last year the following scholarships were awarded:
Girls: Sara Melton from Roanoke – $1000
Boys: Wilton Holloway from Hampton – $1000
          Stetson Franklin from Danville – $800
The amount of the scholarship and the number of scholarships awarded each year depends on the number of applicants in each category (girls and boys) and the funding available.
