During the Veteran’s Day Ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetary, the BVL presented a check for close to $800,000.00 to Eric Shineski, Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The check represents the amount raised by the BVL during the past season to provide recreational and therapeutic programs and services for veterans in care at the nation’s VA hospitals. The sport of bowling once again confirmed its collective commitment to our nation’s service men and women by joining forces and increasing annual contributions to the Bowlers to Veterans Link (BVL). During the 2011-2012 season, leagues, associations, bowling centers, and bowling’s corporate partners donated almost $800,000 to BVL.
The Nation’s Capital Area USBC ranked 3rd in local association contributions, and the state of Virginia ranked 2nd in state contributions overall.
